At
a one day out-door event a novice is a driver who has not had a first place
at a one-day or two-day outdoor event, excluding an ‘Inside-Out’.

At
a two-day out-door event a novice is a driver who has not had a first place
at a two-day outdoor event. A win at a one-day event does not put you in
open for a two-day event: you still class as a novice.

At
an inside out a novice is a driver who has not had a win at any outdoor
event excluding pre-novice
- Entry
fee cheques are not cashed until
after an event
- Withdrawals
- If
a competitor withdraws before the entry closure date then the entry cheque
will be destroyed or returned.
- If
a competitor is unable to take part and withdraws after the closing date
for entries entry cheques will be destroyed or returned on production of
a vets or doctors certificate or in extenuating circumstances at
the discretion of the committee.
- If
a competitor does not turn up at the event on the day, unless it is agreed
by the committee, their entry
cheque will be cashed.
- A
driver may compete 2 different turn-outs in an event provided that they are
in separate classes; if they are in the same class then one turn-out must
run HC
- No-one
may share a carriage within the same class because of the logistics of
timing
- A
groom may go round the course twice provided that this is in separate
classes
- One
person may both drive and groom provided that this is in separate classes
- Vehicles Marathon type vehicle with pneumatic tyres are allowed
- Club
Assessment If you are competing
at your first club event and have not been assessed by another BHDTA
affiliated club you will need to be assessed by the club before you can
compete. This is to check that you are safe and competent to drive at an
event. If you are moving from single to a pair you must also be assessed for
pairs competency.

Assessment - If you require your
BHDTA assessment form to be signed by the club at the event please indicate
this on the form and present the original form too the secretary before
the event starts.
